It seems like every Coloradoan you meet will tell you how they loved growing up as a native and never want to leave, but Colorado hasn’t always been my home. Just 2 short weeks after being born near Big Sur, I was traveling! Life has taken me everywhere from the west coast to the midwest to the deep south to Europe. After moving 19+ times, you can’t exactly pinpoint your “hometown”, but I do know that I feel most at home in the mountains of Colorado, on the shorelines of the ocean, in the mossy forests of the PNW, or in the arms of my sweet husband, Jacob.
I am a big believer in love. Not the kind of blind infatuation you see in movies where two people are instantly attracted to each other and they live happily ever after with a perfect fairytale ending. No. The kind where you get worried sick because the other one isn’t home yet. The kind that makes you wait to watch the newest episode of your favorite show because you wouldn’t want to see it without them. The kind where you anchor each other through unexpected trials.
The kind that makes you feel at home.
Love takes risk, vulnerability, bravery, and loyalty. And for those who are courageous enough to walk through life with their best friend, I believe that your stories deserve to be told. So, if you are passionate pursuers of love who believe that marriage is one of life’s greatest adventures, you’ve come to the right place.
Agápē (n.) unconditional, self-sacrificing, and volitional love
